Twenty-one years after the police fished my grandfather's lifeless body from the Yamaska River, I chose to return to the scene of his final moments. My sister, carrying a raft made for our Pipa, and my mother, holding the mental souvenirs of her father close to her heart, accompanied me to the town of Saint-Damase in order to pay our respects, but most importantly to not forget.
