Quality Time with the Family

In an attempt to understand his own psychosis, the artist examines his identity through genealogy. Feelings of isolation and alienation are expressed by documenting his experience eating dinner with his family. Since the other family members are heard but not seen, subtleties of the artist's interaction, or lack thereof, become pronounced, as is the disconnection he feels towards those around him, which makes the title of the piece ironic.
